Mr. Scarborough's litigation practice involves the representation of large and small businesses, as well as individuals, in matters before state and federal courts, in arbitration and before administrative agencies. Over the course of his 40 year career as a litigator, Mr. Scarborough has tried in excess of 200 civil and criminal jury trials. From 1971 to 1973, Mr. Scarborough was an Assistant District Attorney for Travis County. Since then he has engaged predominantly in the practice of civil litigation, including both jury and non-jury trials in multiple counties all over the State of Texas (see map), obtaining verdicts in both state and federal courts. He has prevailed before the various Texas appellate courts and the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Scarborough has successfully represented clients (both plaintiffs and defendants) in a wide variety of disputes, including breach of contract, legal malpractice, and other business-related matters (e.g., unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, tortious interference, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty).

Honors and Awards

AV rated by Martindale Hubbell; voted by his peers as a Texas Super Lawyer, which has been designated by Texas Monthly magazine as a distinction granted only to the top 5% of the practicing lawyers in Texas.

Professional Memberships / Affiliations
In 1980 and 1981, Mr. Scarborough served as President of the Texas Young Lawyers Association. He also served as a Texas Representative for District 22 for the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association from 1979 through 1980. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers.


Mr. Scarborough represents indigent clients in litigation matters on a pro bono basis through Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and has been a volunteer for the State Bar of Texas as a special prosecutor in grievance matters.
